On August 24, 2026, the Alhambra City Council was reorganized, with Adele Andrade-Stadler elected as the new mayor and Ross Maza as Vice Mayor, following Jeffrey Maloney’s term as mayor.
“I’m here today to be mayor for all Alhambrans,” shared Mayor Adele-Stadler. “We are neighbors: We walk the same sidewalks, shop at the same stores, utilize the library and our children go to our schools. We dream of a vibrant city even if we prefer different plans or pathways. We must listen to each other.”
Among other topics, Mayor Andrade-Stadler shared about her vision for affordable housing, climate change, small business needs, affordability in the city, communication and resource availability, and beautification of the city,
“My vision for Alhambra is a city that puts its people first. We must empower our community, one in which all people regardless of income have pathways to inform and influence our decisionmaking,” she shared. “Thank you for giving me this opportunity to lead Alhambra as we embark on this next leg of our journey.”
“We are a really desirable community. People like to live here, they like to come here to shop and work, and we shouldn’t take that for granted,” shared former Mayor Maloney. “There’s a lot to do, but the best way to deal with an uncertain future is to build a strong foundation in the present. I think we’ve done that and I really look forward to the next few years on Council and many more years of being a resident here making sure that our community thrives. We have work to do, but this Council, this staff, and this community has really created a foundation for a bright future and I appreciate everyone for putting the interest of the city and the community in front of their own time and time again, as it makes all the difference.”
