A new Jersey Mike’s Subs is planned for Main Street in Alhambra, taking over the space formerly occupied by GameStop at 333 E. Main St. Work is underway at the site, where Jersey Mike’s signage has gone up, and the company has officially listed the Alhambra restaurant on its website as “Coming Soon!”
The arrival will add another national fast-casual restaurant to this stretch of Main Street, located near businesses including Dog Haus and Jollibee. Jersey Mike’s has been expanding at a rapid rate across California. In June, USA TODAY reported that the company had identified multiple California locations as being in development, including the Alhambra restaurant at 333 E. Main St. At the time, the company had more than 3,300 locations nationwide.
The new location will enter an already competitive and diverse food scene in Alhambra. Although Alhambra has become primarily known for its authentic Asian restaurants spread throughout Main Street and Valley Boulevard, the city has also continued to attract recognizable national chains and newer fast-casual concepts.
For Jersey Mike’s, the location offers a spot along one of the city’s busiest commercial corridors. Main Street runs through the heart of Alhambra’s commercial district, with restaurants, retail stores and other destinations drawing customers throughout the day.
The company has not announced an opening date for the Alhambra location. Jersey Mike’s was contacted for additional information about the Alhambra location, including its anticipated opening timeline but did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
