Longtime Alhambra Unified School District Board of Education Member Robert (Bob) Gin was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Chinese American Education Association during the organization’s Scholarship Awards Banquet on June 6th in Rosemead.
Gin, who has served on the AUSD Board for 24 years, was honored for his decades of leadership, advocacy, and community service. Throughout his tenure with AUSD, he has championed educational opportunities for students, supported major school modernization projects, and promoted initiatives that strengthen student achievement, family engagement, and equity in education.
In addition to his work with AUSD, Gin has dedicated more than five decades to serving numerous nonprofit and civic organizations throughout the San Gabriel Valley. His contributions have included leadership roles in education, libraries, scouting, cultural organizations, and community service groups.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes Gin’s longstanding commitment to improving the lives of students, families, and community members through public service and volunteerism. Gin’s recognition took place during CAEA’s annual Scholarship Awards Banquet, where students were also recognized for their academic achievements.
