On Saturday, April 18, more than 100 volunteers came together at three locations across Alhambra for a Day of Service cohosted by the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce and the City of Alhambra, dedicated to beautifying the city. Community members rolled up their sleeves to take part in trash cleanups, graffiti removal, and other projects that helped give back to the neighborhoods we all share.

“I came because I wanted to give back to the SGV community,” shared Jesus, a resident of Monrovia who drove out on Saturday to help at the event. “Alhambra was honestly already cleaner than I expected it to be, I and the rest of the volunteers were all pleasantly surprised.”
After the cleanup efforts, volunteers took time to enjoy lunch provided to them, meet with city officials, and explore nonprofit resources offered to them in District 3.

“Getting involved with our city’s community service efforts really brings our community together, and it’s a joy to be a part of it.” shared Jewelyn Co, owner of the Alhambra business CoKreeate. “I deeply care about supporting this the people in this city. It’s a delight to see the community come together at events like these.”
