Students At Ramona Convent Make Engineering Rock!

Junior and senior engineering students at Ramona Convent Secondary School designed and built electric guitars, showcasing the perfect blend of engineering techniques and artistic craftsmanship. Students shaped the body and neck with precision, drilled holes and cavities for the electronic components, and soldered each part to ensure optimal playability and intonation. Guitar bodies were finished to enhance both its durability and visual appeal, some highlighting the natural beauty of the wood and others added custom color work. The result was a fully functional handcrafted electric guitar that reflects both creativity and technique.

Students were excited to share their reflections on the experience. Senior Diane S. enjoyed the creative process with the guitar design and shared, “I can’t wait to hang it in my dorm at UC Berkeley in the fall and play it for all my new friends.”
