Alhambra’s New Run Crew

As the summer season picks up, more people around Alhambra are getting outside and moving. For those looking for a running group that is consistent, welcoming, and easy to join, Renaissance in Motion is building something worth checking out.

The group meets every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. outside the Regal Theater at Renaissance Plaza (Main St and Garfield Ave). Most runs are 3 to 4 miles, with routes changing weekly to highlight different parts of Alhambra and the surrounding area.

Renaissance in Motion follows a simple approach: start on time, stay together, and keep moving. Runs are no-drop, with captains leading and regrouping at key points to ensure no one is left behind. With paces ranging from roughly 7-minute to 12-minute miles, runners of varying levels can find their rhythm while building consistency over time.

The atmosphere is social and welcoming to runners at all levels. New runners are introduced, making it easy to settle in, and conversations happen naturally along the way. The group fosters a supportive, low-pressure environment centered on consistency and mutual respect.

As the group continues to grow, Renaissance in Motion is also looking beyond the weekly run. Members have organized runs through local parks and participated in community efforts such as food drives and holiday donation events. The group also collaborates with other running crews across Alhambra and Los Angeles, building strong connections within the broader running community.

Renaissance in Motion remains open to those who want to contribute ideas and be part of something developing within the San Gabriel Valley. Whether someone is simply looking for a reliable group to run with or hoping to be part of a larger community effort, the group offers space for both.

Participation is free. For updates, follow @renaissance.inmotion on Instagram.
