Restaurant of the Week (5/25-5/31) Yung Ho Dou Jiang

Yung Ho Dou Jiang has been one of the longstanding destinations for Taiwanese breakfast in the San Gabriel Valley, drawing early morning crowds for soy milk, rice rolls, pancakes, and other traditional breakfast staples. Long before Taiwanese breakfast became a trend outside of Taiwanese communities, Yung Ho Dou Jiang was introducing many local diners to dishes built around fresh soy milk, youtiao, and handmade breakfast pastries. Its reputation has made it a fixture on Valley Boulevard and a point of nostalgia for many who grew up eating Taiwanese breakfast.

Breakfast classics sit alongside noodles, dumplings, small plates, and Taiwanese street food, allowing tables to move from a simple soy milk and rice roll breakfast into a much larger meal. The flavors are direct and familiar to Taiwanese diners, with an emphasis on fresh soy products, crisp fried dough, flaky pancakes, and savory fillings. Even with the expanded menu, the breakfast items remain the identity of the restaurant and the reason many customers continue returning.

Yung Ho Dou Jiang serves the dishes that helped define the category in the SGV while continuing to attract both longtime regulars and first-time visitors.
