COLUMN: Downtown Alhambra Welcomes New Energy with Exciting Openings and Upgrades

By Jimmy Tram, Vice President of the Downtown Alhambra Business District Association and Co-Founder of SoCal Group at eXp Realty, a Real Estate Company.

Downtown Alhambra is buzzing with new businesses, fresh energy, and exciting updates that continue to shape our city’s future. One of the most notable recent upgrades is at Regal Edwards Alhambra Renaissance, which unveiled new luxury reclining chairs in four of its theaters just in time for Valentine’s Day. The full upgrade is expected to be completed by summer, giving locals and visitors a much more comfortable moviegoing experience.

New to the dining scene is EAT’S AYCE SUSHI, a sleek all-you-can-eat spot that’s already gaining popularity for its fresh rolls, quick service, and stylish atmosphere — perfect for casual lunches or dinner with friends. Coming soon is Wushiland Boba, a well-known Taiwanese tea brand setting up shop at Alhambra Place on Main Street. Known for its authentic flavors and chewy boba, it’s a welcome addition to Alhambra’s already impressive beverage scene.

Also in the works is Pinecone Bakeshop + Cafe at 116 W. Main Street, which is currently going through the plan check process. Once open, it promises to be a cozy destination for fresh pastries and coffee. Just a few doors down, Jumpin’ Lobster is preparing to bring bold seafood dishes to 118 W. Main Street, offering an exciting new option for foodies looking for something different.

Beyond the Downtown district, we’re also seeing growth at the Chinatown Service Center at 320 S Garfield Ave #126 Street, expanding community health and support services, and the recently opened Ebisu Life Store at 300 W. Main #120, which offers a wide range of Asian wellness, beauty, and home goods.

With each new opening, Alhambra continues to evolve as a place where businesses thrive and the community grows stronger. Stop by our office at 205 S. Chapel Ave #A anytime — we’d love to connect and share more about what’s ahead for our city
