Building a Cleaner Future: Alhambra Launches “Be Green, #KeepAlhambraClean” Anti-Litter Campaign

    The City of Alhambra is inviting the community to come together for “Be Green, #KeepAlhambraClean”, an annual campaign encouraging residents, businesses, and visitors to take simple steps to reduce litter and take an active role in protecting the places we all share.

    “Litter affects our environment, our quality of life, and even our local economy,” said Mayor Jeff Maloney. “This campaign is about empowering residents, businesses, and visitors alike to take pride in our community and work together to keep Alhambra beautiful.”

    Throughout April, the City will host a series of sustainability-focused events designed to bringing the community together and celebrate environmental stewardship. Residents are encouraged to get involved, learn more about sustainable practices, and help spread the message.

    Residents are encouraged to participate in the following ways:

    • Properly dispose of trash, recycling, and compost;
    • Report litter issues www.alhambraca.gov or the GoAlhambra mobile app;
    • Reduce and reuse items;
    • Start where you are and pick up litter when you see it;
    • Share your efforts online using #KeepAlhambraClean.

    Eco-Friendly events happening throughout the month:

    • Neighborhood Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 18 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in a pre-designated boundary between Curtis Ave/Electric Ave and South Commonwealth Ave/Mission Rd
    • Arbor Day on Tuesday, April 21 at 10 a.m. at Almansor Park (800 S Almansor St, Alhambra, CA 91801)
    • Eco Fair on Sunday, April 26 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. during Alhambra’s Farmers Market (100 S. Second St, Alhambra, CA 91801)

    Together, these events help build momentum around the Be Green, #KeepAlhambraClean campaign and inspire the community to take pride by keeping Alhambra beautiful.
