Alhambra Unified School District (AUSD) was recently honored with two Awards of Merit from the California School Public Relations Association (CalSPRA) for its work in promoting its educational initiatives. The awards were presented at the CalSPRA annual conference, where Dr. Leann Huang, Coordinator of College & Career Preparation, and Natalie Tee-Gaither, Director of Public Information, accepted the awards on behalf of the District.

The first award was for the District’s promotional video dedicated to its CTE programs, which provide students with hands-on learning experiences and real-world skills to prepare them to be life- and future-ready. The video showcases the variety and innovation of AUSD’s CTE offerings, helping to inform the community and prospective students about these vital opportunities.

The second award recognized the educational section of the Monterey Park Cascades. This city publication is a main form of communication with the city’s residents. AUSD partners with the city to publish submissions that specifically highlights the District’s key events, achievements, and ongoing efforts to foster educational excellence. The section provides a platform to celebrate the accomplishments of students, staff, and the broader AUSD community, making it an important tool in building strong family and community engagement. This follows the Award of Excellence the District received the previous year for the educational portion of the Around Alhambra, another strong ongoing communications partner for AUSD.

These recognitions by CalSPRA underscore AUSD’s commitment to providing quality educational opportunities, while keeping the community informed and engaged with the District’s progress and achievements.
