On Sunday, June 22, Alhambra’s Main Street will transform into a transportation paradise for walkers, bikers, and skaters for Active Streets’ “Mission at Twilight” from 3 to 8 pm. Together with the cities of San Gabriel and South Pasadena, Active Streets is taking over a five mile route connecting the San Gabriel and South Pasadena Mission Districts, presented by Metro and hosted by the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments.
“Mission at Twilight” is an opportunity to celebrate the summer solstice in the SGV via foot, bike, scooter, skateboard, or other human-powered device. The SGV’s first ‘twilight’ ciclovia will also allow participants to enjoy a late lunch or early dinner on an iconic, car-free Route 66 and limit impacts to morning religious services along the event route.
People of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to get active and explore some of the most culturally diverse communities in California, home to countless small businesses as well as some of the region’s best cuisine. Registration is not required to participate. Attendees can start and stop at any point along the route.
