City of Alhambra Unveils 2025 Rose Parade Float Design, Inspired by Local Student

The City of Alhambra is excited to announce its participation in the 2025 Tournament of Roses Parade, marking the city’s 96th consecutive year in this iconic celebration. This year’s parade theme, “Best Day Ever!” highlights life’s most joyous and heartwarming moments, and Alhambra’s float beautifully embodies that spirit in a unique and inspiring way.

The 2025 float design was inspired by Chelsea Yeung, a 4th grade student at Northrup Elementary School, whose artwork was chosen through the City of Alhambra annual art contest. The contest invited elementary school students across the Alhambra Unified School District who are Alhambra residents to submit their creative ideas for the city’s float. Chelsea’s illustration, featuring a joyful dog, captured the essence of “Best Day Ever!” and serves as the centerpiece of this year’s float.

The float’s colorful design is not only a celebration of happiness but also a nod to the City’s exciting future permanent Dog Park.

The future dog park installation is set to be located next to the Alhambra Golf Course, with an opening date in late 2025.

For those interested in helping bring Alhambra’s float to life, volunteer opportunities for float decoration will begin December 7th. Volunteers are essential to the float’s success, and the city encourages community members to participate in this exciting tradition. Sign up opportunities are available now on the City’s website.

Be sure to watch for the City of Alhambra’s float as it makes its way down Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena on January 1, 2025! For more information, visit cityofalhambra.org.
