Rotary Club Donates $5,000 to Support AUSD Families Affected by Recent Wildfires

AUSD has enjoyed a long, supportive partnership with the Alhambra and Monterey Park Rotary Club, and appreciate all they do for our students, staff members, and community.

The Alhambra and Monterey Park (AMP) Rotary Club continues to show its support for the Alhambra Unified School District (AUSD). This time, they have stepped forward with a generous $5,000 donation to support AUSD families who lost their homes in the recent wildfires. The donation was made to the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation (GLAEF), which is continuing to accept contributions to assist wildfire victims across Los Angeles County.

Rotary President Ayla Jefferson made the announcement during Rotary’s February 4 weekly meeting, which was held at Atherton Baptist Home. AUSD leaders were present to express their gratitude and present the Rotary Club with a certificate of appreciation. Those in attendance included: Board President Fred Chang, Board Vice President Ken Tang, Superintendent Dr. Denise Jaramillo, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Janet Lees, Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services Lindsey Ma, and Alhambra Teachers Association President Ralph Hernandez. The Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation is still accepting donations to support wildfire victims. Those wishing to contribute specifically to the AUSD community can do so by designating their donation to the Alhambra Unified School District or Alhambra USD (not just “AUSD”) when making their contribution.
