Alhambra Chef Wins National Award

    Chef William Yee from Alhambra is the recipient of the American Culinary Federation National Presidential Medallion, its highest award, which he received at their National Convention for exemplarity leadership, industry commitment, and community service. With over one thousand executive chefs and industry leaders from the US and other countries present for this recognition in Las Vegas last July, he was also promoted to the newly formed Asian Chef Alliance as Vice President of the Western Region. The ACA will be providing membership opportunities for the Asian chef community along with certifications, educational workshops, and related industry services. Chef Yee’s good friend and mentor Celebrity Chef Martin Yan (“Yan Can Cook”) is also a major advisor for the ACA internationally.

    Chef Yee has been a strong supporter of the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce for the past 16 years and serves on several committees. He is the Chef/Artistic Director of Alhambra Performing Arts Center with free world-class concerts monthly including light meals from his ACF Culinary Team for the past 19 years hosted by Sage Granada Park United Methodist Church. His non-profit corporation ProChef America Foundation which he serves as Founder and President provides grants and scholarships for high school culinary students and ACF Chefs and has been providing free hot meals for several hundred people at Thanksgiving along with the Alhambra Fire Department and Pasadena Police Department. He is a graduate of prestigious Le Cordon Bleu and has worked many years at the Langham Huntington Hotel, Netflix, the world-renowned Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA and several others. Chef Yee is a delegate to the WorldChefs Congress which was recently held in Singapore and will be inducted into the prestigious Disciples of Escoffier as the Delagate representing California in Washington DC in October, 2025.
