The new Main Street Market, a monthly artisan, craft, and flea market, kicked off 2025 with a grand opening and ribbon cutting on Sunday, January 6. Over a dozen vendors showcased their goods, including booths with handbags, crochet trinkets, jewelry, tarot readings, and more. Many vendors are small businesses local to Alhambra.

The vendors were joined by Alhambra-based entertainers Lucky, DJ Krazy, and DJ FasTrak offering music and hyping up the crowd. Main Street Market plans to have new, exciting entertainment every month — next month will have a live band.

Main Street Market is an effort led by the Downtown Alhambra Business Association (DABA) to add more liveliness and arts to Alhambra. The Market is held at Renaissance Plaza, in front of the Regal Theaters and Panda Express, just two blocks away from the Sunday farmers market.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Alhambra Chamber of Commerce CEO John Bwarie presented DABA President Allison Mayrena, owner of VitaCane, and Vice President Jimmy Tram, managing partner at eXp Realty, with a certificate from the Chamber to celebrate the grand opening of the market.

“Main Street Market is a great place to bring people together in Alhambra,” Mayrena said.

Mayor Noya Wang also offered her congratulations and certificate on behalf of the City of Alhambra. “It’s always been a vision of the city to have a vibrant business community and support the small businesses in our community,” she said.

The new monthly market aims to create a vibrant community of local small businesses, artists, and makers in downtown Alhambra. The next market will be held on Sunday, February 2 and any interested vendors are invited to fill out the application online.
