AUSD’s Board of Education expands as Keiko Rakin Officially Assumes Role as the New Student Board Member

Alhambra High School junior Keiko Rakin took her Oath of Office on August 27 and now officially serves as Alhambra Unified School District’s Student Board Member for the 2024-2025 school year. Keiko becomes only the second AUSD student to serve in this important role. She also chairs the district’s 12-member Student Advisory Council, along with vice chairperson and Student Board Member Alternate Madison Kang (a senior at Mark Keppel High School). Having a student as part of AUSD’s Board of Education helps ensure student voices are heard and considered as part of the district’s decision-making process.
