Soroptimist Camino Real Region held their 2024 Fall Workshop at Ramona Convent Secondary School on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Over 100 members from 23 clubs were present at the event, along with dignitaries including President of Soroptimist International of the Americas, Dr. Gloria “Ginger” Cole; from Soroptimist of Sweden, Eva Skamer; Region Governor, Cynthia Jarvis; and event host, Sister Kathleen Callaway, President of Ramona Convent Secondary School.
The day was filled with extraordinary training, new ideas, and information about Soroptimist Programs for Women and Girls, plus good food and fun.
Soroptimist means “Best for Women” in Latin. Live Your Dream Awards are awarded to women who are the sole providers for their families and have overcome many obstacles on the road to achieving a ‘dream’ career. Dream It, Be It is a career mentoring program for high school girls. Veronica Thee Service awards honor girls who did outstanding community service while in high school.
Soroptimist of Alhambra, San Gabriel, San Marino is always open to new members, both women and men. We welcome people from our community who would like to help us with our programs.
If you have a passion to help women and girls, then we need you to work with us. The rewards for your volunteer service are overwhelming when you see the smiles on the faces of the women we have helped. Visit our website at soroptimistalhambra.org or email [email protected] for more information.
