After 12 years of devoted service at Atherton, Rev. J. Craig Statton will retire as Chief Executive Officer on September 30, 2024. Atherton, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that serves 350 residents, offers 218 Independent Living Units, 32 Assisted Living Units, 4 Companion Care beds, and a 99-bed Skilled Nursing Facility.
Craig began his journey with Atherton in February 2012, quickly advancing to Chief Operating Officer in January 2014 and subsequently to Chief Executive Officer in August 2014. Prior to joining Atherton, he served as the Senior Pastor of Selma First Baptist Church in Selma, CA, for 18 years, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to his role.
Under Craig’s leadership, Atherton experienced remarkable financial growth and successfully navigated through various transformations and improvements. His dedication to professional development is evident through his numerous credentials, including becoming a Certified Gift Planning Professional, Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) Administrator, as well as completing a Graduate Certificate in Long Term Care and earning a Nursing Home Administrator’s License.
As Craig embarks on his well-deserved retirement, Atherton extends heartfelt gratitude for his years of leadership, service, and unwavering dedication to the community. His legacy will leave a lasting impression, and he will be remembered fondly for his many contributions.
