Dodgers Fever Takes Over Alhambra

This October, the Los Angeles Dodgers won their eighth Major League Baseball World Series championship in franchise history as they prevailed over the New York Yankees. Roars and cheers were heard throughout Los Angeles, with some celebrations lasting days. From massive crowds of two hundred thousand people gathered for the Dodgers World Series Parade, to hip-hop rapper Ice Cube performing at Dodger Stadium, the championship is held close to many fans’ hearts. The celebrations are not just seen in the city of L.A., but also in Alhambra, California. Whether it is Happy Hour at 38 Degrees Ale House & Grill or Dodger player Kike Hernandez visiting Alhambra’s Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, locals are celebrating the victory.

During the Dodgers’ World Series run, local restaurants and bars were cheering on the team. Restaurants like The Chicken Koop, 38 Degrees Ale House & Grill and 28 West Sports Bar hosted Happy Hours for fans.

“Catch game 4 of the World Series at 38 and enjoy our Dodgers Day specials as well as Happy Hour from 3:30 to 9 pm!” 38 Degrees Ale House & Grill posted on their social media.

“Only 1 place to watch us WIN the WORLD SERIES,” 28 West Sports Bar posted on their official Instagram account. They had also hosted several watch parties and had several videos of fans celebrating the Dodgers victories as the season was in progress.

The celebrations for the Dodgers victories were not only seen through Alhambra business owners and fans, but the players themselves.

On November 4, Dodgers superstar Kike Hernandez visited the Raising Canes Chicken Fingers off of Valley Blvd. Hernandez was working the cash register, frying food, and serving some lucky customers.

Hernandez addressed the crowd of blue, filled with hundreds of fans who were celebrating the win, with many fans in Dodgers apparel and carrying posters.

“I was happy for the city and this fan base, because they deserved the parade as much as we did. I was just glad we were able to get one,” Hernandez said in his speech to the fans.

These are just a few ways Alhambra has celebrated the Dodgers victory, and the Bleeding Blue Dodgers fans will continue to celebrate the victory. Until a new Los Angeles team wins a championship, Dodgers nation is stronger today than ever before.
