By Maria Gao, Alhambra Chamber of Commerce President
As the brand new board chair of the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce, I now have been given the honor of taking up words in this publication and in turn, your precious time. I thank you for allowing me to use these lines to make an introduction.
The Chamber was essential in helping to relocate my work into the city in 2012. We were welcomed into the community and quickly felt right at home.
Over the years, our business benefited from the many connections the Chamber helped us forge and I met people to whom I could look up and from whom I would learn. I learned from experts, professionals, public servants, and folks from various walks of life. As the company grew and I alongside it, I realized that at the end of the interactions we had with our Chamber and community was always someone who was being of service. As a result of their services, a bond that connected our community was built.
With the honor of serving as the president of the Chamber, I hope to continue building our community and the bond that connects us to each other and our communities. I hope to leave the organization and this community better than when I found it and I know I won’t be alone. I will be supported by those that have come before and more that will arrive after. If you would like to be a part of a cause, I hope you will join our community. Hope to see you around Alhambra!
