“Nightshade Manor” is open to all members of the public and is a perfect kick-off to the Halloween season. However it will feature special effects makeup and scary themes. It is NOT recommended for children under 12 and parental discretion is advised.
Last year Alhambra High School resurrected its annual Haunted House with smashing success. A review by respected haunt authority, Haunts of LA, called it an, “intense…very impressive haunt. Their talent for horror goes beyond most experienced haunts.” This October AHS returns with plans for their biggest haunted house yet, “Nightshade Manor.”
“Nightshade Manor” will feature two intertwined mazes that will diverge at different points within the haunt, allowing patrons a choice between two possible unique experiences per entry. The creepy mansion theme will hit on classic horror themes, while also adding a few new surprises. With special effects makeup, construction, and performances by AHS theater students, this event will showcase the talents of the AHS technical theater and drama programs.
“Nightshade Manor” Haunted House is a one-night-only event and takes place Friday, October 11 from 2:45 pm until 8:30 pm at the AHS Auditorium (101 South 2nd Street in Alhambra). This haunted house is produced as a joint effort by the AHS Thespian Society and AHS Theater Boosters. It is directed by AHS Theater Arts teacher Rachel Snow with design and technical direction by Brian Cole.
Tickets are available online at ahstheater.com ($8 for students and $10 for adults). Tickets will also be available at the door. To volunteer or donate to the AHS Theater program and Thespians, please send an inquiry to: [email protected].
