Starbucks Fuels Corporate Citizenship in Alhambra

Starbucks is a global brand, but holds a special place in the Alhambra community. With two locations in Alhambra, it has been a key supporter of community initiatives and programs that make our city a better place to live, work, and play. From taking a leadership role in the Lunar New Year Celebration Passport program last year, to chairing this year’s Lunar New Year Festival Committee, to leading groups and projects at the Alhambra Day of Service, Starbucks in Alhambra under the leadership of Ben Long has fueled the city with both its community support and caffeinated drinks, earning it the Corporate Citizen of the Year Award at the Alhambra Chamber’s 2024 President’s Awards. We spoke with Ben to hear more about our local Starbucks locations.

    AA: Tell us about yourself.

Ben: I am a Starbucks District Manager and have a strong passion to help others. Starbucks’ Mission & Values, “with every cup, with every conversation, with every community – we nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection” resonates with me and my beliefs of creating an amazing community through helping others. Working at Starbucks allows me to create positive meaningful connections through coffee and give back and support the communities we serve.

AA: Why did you choose to open a Starbucks in Alhambra?

Ben: Alhambra is special to me because it is where I call home – there are so many amazing things about our wonderful city it is hard to list them all. We have a great community of residents and businesses, and everyone has all been amazingly kind and supportive!

AA: What else would you like people to know about Starbucks?

Ben: As we continue to grow in the city, I invite everyone to stop in and get to know our partners and myself because we would love to get to know you as well! Come in and grab your favorite food and/or beverage and let’s connect over coffee! Thank you for letting us and myself be a part of your day and lives… I’ll see you around!
