Therapicasso 1st Inaugural Art Exhibit Fundraising Gala: A Night in the Arts

One year ago, Therapicasso was founded by two high school students in the wake of the tragic Monterey Park Shooting. Our mission is to provide young people with creative tools to express themselves, heal, and advocate for mental health awareness. In just one year, Therapicasso has reached over 1,000 students across Los Angeles County through workshops, partnered with six elementary schools and two high schools, and collaborations with over 10 organizations—including the Alhambra Unified School District and the Los Angeles County Office of Violence Prevention. 

The event will feature:

• An exhibit of artwork from across LA County and beyond (w/ emphasis on student artwork) highlighting themes of resilience and hope.
• Guest speakers (community leaders), including Rep. Chu, Asm. Fong, Alhambra Unified Superintendent, and various others.
• Interactive activities for guests, live art experience and opportunities to contribute to a collaborative community art piece.
• An “Art Fund Ask” and donation opportunities, with proceeds directly supporting Therapicasso’s expansion to more schools and communities.

We really believe this event tells a powerful story about the intersection of art, mental health advocacy, and youth leadership. It’s a testament to what young people can achieve when they transform personal and community trauma into positive action.
