The Alhambra community is invited to a free hands-on event on Tuesday\, November 19\, from 11 AM to 5 PM at Emery Park (2709 Mimosa St.)\, to learn how to check-out and return books and games from Alhambra’s new Vending Library and Locker of Things. \n\n\n\nAlhambra Library staff will be on-site to guide visitors through the easy steps of checking out books\, games\, and other items from the new vending machine and lockers. Visitors can sign up for library cards on the spot\, so they’re ready to check out materials right away. Plus\, there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy—craft stations\, outdoor games\, and engaging activities will keep everyone entertained! \n\n\n\nHighlights of the day also include balloon twisting and face painting by local artists\, perfect for kids and adults alike. SUMMARY:Therapicasso 1st Inaugural Art Exhibit Fundraising Gala: A Night in the Arts
DESCRIPTION:One year ago\, Therapicasso was founded by two high school students in the wake of the tragic Monterey Park Shooting. Our mission is to provide young people with creative tools to express themselves\, heal\, and advocate for mental health awareness. In just one year\, Therapicasso has reached over 1\,000 students across Los Angeles County through workshops\, partnered with six elementary schools and two high schools\, and collaborations with over 10 organizations—including the Alhambra Unified School District and the Los Angeles County Office of Violence Prevention.  \n\n\n\nThe event will feature: \n\n\n\n\nAn exhibit of artwork from across LA County and beyond (w/ emphasis on student artwork) highlighting themes of resilience and hope.\n\n\n\nGuest speakers (community leaders)\, including Rep. Chu\, Asm. Fong\, Alhambra Unified Superintendent\, and various others.\n\n\n\nInteractive activities for guests\, live art experience and opportunities to contribute to a collaborative community art piece.\n\n\n\nAn “Art Fund Ask” and donation opportunities\, with proceeds directly supporting Therapicasso’s expansion to more schools and communities.\n\n\n\n\nWe really believe this event tells a powerful story about the intersection of art\, mental health advocacy\, and youth leadership. It’s a testament to what young people can achieve when they transform personal and community trauma into positive action.
