DESCRIPTION:San Gabriel High School’s drama students are gearing up to bring the spooky and hilarious world of Beetlejuice JR to life. Performances will run from April 11 through April 18. \n\n\n\nBased on the hit film-turned-Broadway-musical\, Beetlejuice JR follows Lydia Deetz\, a strange and unusual teenager struggling with the loss of her mother and fascinated by the afterlife. Chaos ensues when her family moves into a new home haunted by a recently deceased couple and the mischievous demon Beetlejuice. Lydia attempts to summon Beetlejuice\, which leads to unpredictable and wildly entertaining results – blending humor\, heart\, and high-energy musical numbers. \n\n\n\nWith music and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Eddie Perfect and a book by the Tony Award-nominated team of Anthony King and Scott Brown\, Beetlejuice was a Broadway sensation\, earning eight Tony Award nominations in 2019\, including Best New Musical.

DESCRIPTION:Alhambra High School’s theater department is preparing to bring a thrilling and chilling production to the stage this spring with Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The Tony Award-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim tells the dark and dramatic tale of a vengeful barber and his sinister partnership with a pie shop owner\, featuring a haunting score and unforgettable characters. \n\n\n\nPerformances will take place on April 18\, 19\, 25\, and 26\, with students showcasing their talents in acting\, singing\, and stage production. Under the direction of Rachel Snow-Fornari (drama and technical theater teacher)\, the cast and crew have been hard at work preparing for what promises to be a compelling and visually striking performance. \n\n\n\nTickets are available for $20 for adults and $15 for students and children. They can be purchased online through the Alhambra Theater Boosters website at alhambratheaterboosters.ludus.com. AHS is also seeking donations to rent a modern LED lighting package to enhance the production quality. Donation information is also available on the Alhambra Theater Boosters website.
